Thanks ladies - we have had a brilliant weekend, really special, with our family. We are very, very lucky to have them all, and they are so kind to us. After 40 years with Nick I still love him to bits.
Our celebrations started with a special Mass on Saturday, then an informal meal with family & close friends at our local Italian restaurant, who did us proud. We had a wonderful lunch today at Whitworth Hall with close family, where we once again "cut the cake." We had more visitors this afternoon, and we have some beautiful gifts.
Best of all we had both sons, daughter-in-law & grandsons staying the weekend with us - and they gave us flight tickets to Paris for March! Unbelievable, and so generous.
On Tuesday we are going to the Borders for a couple of days, to a nice hotel, just us, so looking forward to that. It has been a hectic, but fantastic, weekend.
